Job Title: Systems Safety Engineer

Job description:
- The Systems Safety Engineer supports engineering activities related to system safety throughout the project lifecycle.
- The role involves assisting with hazard identification, risk assessments, safety analyses, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- The engineer works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support the development of safe and reliable systems. A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.

Responsibilities:
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve product performance and cost targets while ensuring quality and manufacturability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe operating environment.
- Prepare technical reports, analyses, presentations, and engineering documentation.
- Define, analyze, and manage product and process requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage engineering activities to support project schedules and budgets.
- Perform system design and development activities while meeting customer requirements for quality, reliability, cost, and schedule.
- Prepare and review engineering documentation, including proposals, procedures, technical reports, and related documents.
- Support Systems Engineering activities including system architecture, requirements definition, validation, verification, and requirements flow-down.
- Perform System Safety analyses including Reliability Predictions, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Common Mode Analysis (CMA), and Single Event Upset (SEU) Analysis in accordance with ARP4761.
- Participate in certification compliance activities for aircraft control systems.
- Perform other engineering duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 5 years of relevant Systems Engineering/System Safety Engineering experience.
- Experience with ARP4754 system development processes.
- Familiarity with DO-178, DO-254, and DO-160.
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles, requirements management, validation, and verification.
- Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
