Job SummaryThe Manager, Sales Engineering, will report to the Director of Sales Design & Engineering and will work closely and collaboratively with the sales organization to help evolve sales approaches, and to standardize technical presentations for prospects, customers, and partners. This role will gather requirements and customer feedback from Operations, Engineering and Product teams to ensure our success against assigned targets annually. The Manager, Sales Engineering, will remain active in the duties of a Sales Engineer as appropriate.This position requires an individual with strong leadership and deep technical skills, excellent writing and oral presentation skills and a demonstrated ability to successfully work as a trusted advisor to ensure the success of Ziply Fiber's current and future customers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed below are a range of duties performed by the employee and not intended to reflect all duties performed.· Lead and drive all activities for Sales Engineering team. · Partner closely with sales management to meet the company’s business objectives and ensure the successful sale and deployment of company solutions across all verticals in support of all customers. · Recruit and develop the Sales Engineering organization.· Develop, maintain, and continuously improve sales engineering processes to successfully meet and exceed the company’s sales goals. · Plan and manage the team resources, ensuring they are efficiently deployed to support a broad range of customer and partner needs. · Create and lead a process to communicate technical issues and/or enhancement requests from the sales team back to technical support, product management and R&D. · Provide via Sales Operations resources the appropriate Sales Engineering related reporting on sales activities, customer initiatives, and product requirements. · Work with the Sales VPs and other stakeholders to align Sales Engineering with Ziply Fiber’s strategic vision. · Apply sales skills along with technical knowledge to effectively close sales. · Provide technical leadership and knowledge to the sales organization. · Proactively engage with Sales Leaders to create close alignment and develop technical tools/programs to support sales campaigns and initiatives. · Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization. Required Qualifications:· High school diploma or GED.· Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.· Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in sales engineering, systems engineering and/or sales.· Minimum of five (5) years of people leadership experience.· Results oriented manager with demonstrable achievement of success.· Demonstrated experience in Sales Operations role(s) in growth organizations.· Experience working with K-12 Education Technology customers.· Experience working in a channel partner/ technical alliance environment.· Strong understanding of current telecommunications & Cloud technologies.· Proven track record of supporting multiple projects.· Basic understanding of Sales Methodology.· Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:· Strong customer relationship and people skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service.· Ability to influence technical decision makers and executives through technical presentations and business case creation.· Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment and reasoning skills to a variety of situations· Ability to multi-task and collaborate effectively with other personnel to meet deadlines.· Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.· Ability to work within critical deadlines.· Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities and schedules.· Ability to support multiple projects and drive through completion.Work AuthorizationApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the US for any employer.
