Zionsville Community Schools is seeking a staff accountant to join our team! Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business Management or related field preferred. 1-2 years of experience is preferred.
POSITION SUMMARY: To assure and enhance the efficient operation of the Business Office such that the office maximizes its positive impact upon the education of students throughout Zionsville Community Schools. Utilization of this position will provide additional segregation of duties and strengthen internal control structures within the department.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for Accounts Payable Functions:
- Prepare Purchase Orders
- Monitor and manage Open Purchase Order reports
- Manage payment queues in Invoice Management System
- Process and distribute checks for payment or upload to outside payment processor
- Generate reports as required from the accounting system
- Answer vendor inquires and communicate as needed with vendors to resolve issues
- Participate and engage in special projects of the Business Services department as needed
- Assist all members of the Business Services department as needed
General Functions:
- Responsible for assisting the Accounting Supervisor with related clerical and administrative duties as needed.
- Perform a variety of work involving use of independent judgment, with high level of accuracy, confidentiality, timeliness and organization
- Must maintain cooperative relationships while maintaining strict confidentiality of specified information
- Communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization and former employees
- Assist all members of the Business Services department as needed
Salary : $40,000 - $48,000
