Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking a full-time Staff Accountant.
Requirements:
- 0-3 years related experience in general accounting.
- Familiarity with the operations of an educational institution preferred.
- Experience in Nonprofit Accounting and grant reimbursement preferred.
- Associate degree in accounting, business, or finance, preferred but not required with applicable experience.
- Self-starter, attention to detail, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in analyzing, reporting, and recording financial data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Indianapolis
Job Tasks:
- Track and allocate general and administrative costs to respective funds and entities.
- Record bank activity, deposits, transfers, payroll, and miscellaneous entries.
- Ensure receipts are coded in accordance with budgets.
- Coordinate local grant reconciliations and reimbursements.
- Assist with tracking and allocation of costs to respective grants, funds, and entities.
- Assist in preparation of required reporting to various grant awarding bodies.
- Filing all documentation as needed.
- Manage vendors and print annual 1099 tax forms.
- Prepare various reconciliations of bank and balance sheet accounts.
- Participate in month end process and functions.
- Assist in preparation of the annual budget, audit, and other compliance filings as needed.
- Pull reports or files as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operations of the schools.
