Early Childhood Aide

The Early Childhood Aide supports the Lead Teacher in providing a nurturing, safe, and educational environment for young children. This role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, promoting the development of social and academic skills, and fostering a love for learning through a faith-based lens.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Support:

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing the daily curriculum and educational activities.
• Prepare materials and set up the classroom for various activities, both indoors and outdoors.

Child Supervision:

• Supervise and engage with children during playtime, meals, and nap periods.
• Ensure safety and well-being of all children at all times.

Behavior Management:

• Support positive behavior by modeling and encouraging respectful interactions among children.
• Help implement classroom rules and routines established by the Lead Teacher.

Faith Integration:

• Participate in integrating biblical principles and stories into daily activities and interactions.
• Assist in leading prayers and other faith-based activities as directed by the Lead Teacher.

Individual Support:

• Provide attention and support to individual children as needed, including those with varying learning abilities.
• Observe and report on children’s progress and any concerns regarding their development to the Lead Teacher.

Family Interaction:

• Communicate with parents and guardians about children's daily experiences when appropriate.
• Assist in creating a welcoming environment for families during drop-off and pick-up times.

Health and Safety:

• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, following health and safety guidelines.
• Help with meal preparation and clean-up, ensuring proper hygiene practices.
• Assist with classroom cleaning throughout and at the end of day

Professional Development:

• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities as required.
• Stay informed about early childhood education best practices and classroom management techniques.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field is a plus.
• Previous experience working with young children, particularly in a daycare or preschool setting, preferred.
• Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and a commitment to Christian values.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
