Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers to provide exceptional support and care to individuals with various needs, including seniors, persons with disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory or dementia care. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence in a respectful and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, home care, or nursing settings and possess a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for those served.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide medication administration following prescribed protocols and maintaining accurate documentation using EMR systems
- Support residents with mobility needs, including operating Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices
- Prepare meals in accordance with dietary plans and assist with feeding as needed
- Monitor vital signs and observe for any changes in health status
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including behavior management and activity engagement
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light cleaning and sanitation practices
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare teams
- Drive clients to appointments or outings when necessary, ensuring safety during transportation
- Respond promptly to emergencies or behavioral issues using conflict management skills and first aid when required
- Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, autism, or developmental disabilities
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, home care, or working with people with disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and EMR systems is advantageous
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is desirable
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely (e.g., Hoyer lifts) and perform physically demanding tasks
- Excellent communication skills and patience when working with diverse populations including seniors, children, or individuals with special needs
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties is a plus
- Compassionate attitude with a strong sense of responsibility for patient care and safety
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $21.49 - $25.88 per hour
