Position: Locum Radiation Therapist

POSITION SUMMARY
The Locum Radiation Therapist will provide high-quality, patient-centered radiation therapy at a Varian-based radiation oncology department. The therapist will support daily clinical operations, ensure accurate treatment delivery, and uphold patient safety. Ideal candidates are adaptable and capable of integrating quickly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Treatment Delivery
- Deliver daily treatments using Varian LINACs (TrueBeam / Clinac / Trilogy / Halcyon).
- Follow physician prescriptions and planning instructions.
- Perform IGRT using kV, MV, and CBCT.
- Conduct daily QA checks.
- Verify accurate patient setup and immobilization.
Patient Care & Workflow
- Provide compassionate, professional patient care.
- Assist with CT simulation and immobilization.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and nurses.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Follow state/NRC regulations and departmental policies.
- Document accurately in Varian ARIA.
- Participate in chart checks and safety workflows.
- Report equipment issues promptly.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Accredited Radiation Therapy program graduate.
- ARRT(T) certification.
- State license (if applicable).
- 1 2 years Varian experience.
- ARIA proficiency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- SBRT/SRS experience.
- Prior locum experience.
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills
