Tool & Die Technician

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a leading automotive metal stamping manufacturer in the McCalla, AL area, is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Technician to join their team! This is an excellent opportunity to support high-volume production operations in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

Tool & Die Technician Job Summary

• Pay: Up to $40.00/hour DOE
• Shift: 3rd Shift
• Sunday Night - Friday Morning
• Approximately 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
  

Tool & Die Technician Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair transfer and progressive stamping dies
• Perform preventive maintenance on tooling and related equipment
• Complete engineering changes and dimensional corrections
• Interpret CMM reports and make required tooling adjustments
• Operate manual machining equipment including mills, lathes, and grinders
• Support die tryouts, production launches, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure quality and production uptime
  
  

Tool & Die Technician Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Tool & Die experience preferred
• Automotive metal stamping experience required
• Experience with transfer dies, progressive dies, and coil-fed stamping operations
• Strong troubleshooting and die repair skills
• Experience making tooling modifications and engineering changes
• Ability to read blueprints, tooling drawings, and quality reports
• Proficiency with manual machining equipment
• MIG/TIG welding experience preferred
• Journeyman Tool & Die certification preferred
