Join the team of an innovative automotive manufacturer as a Production Control Operations Manager. In this role, you'll lead the plant's 2nd shift production control and material operations, ensuring materials, inventory, and logistics support efficient, high-volume manufacturing
Key Responsibilities
- Lead 2nd shift material operations, including inventory management, material flow, kitting, lineside delivery, and service parts.
- Coach, develop, and lead material operations and third-party logistics (3PL) teams.
- Ensure materials are available to support production while minimizing downtime and inventory issues.
- Partner with production, logistics, engineering, planning, and IT teams to optimize material flow and warehouse operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators including inventory accuracy, schedule adherence, material availability, and line performance.
- Quickly resolve material shortages, delivery issues, and inventory discrepancies to maintain production schedules.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, JIT, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 12 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Leadership experience in production control, materials management, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
- Automotive manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, JIT, inventory management, and production scheduling.
- Launch/start up experience is a plus
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
