About The Role
We are seeking a Medical Biller to join our team in Tarrytown. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced with NextGen. This role is responsible for reviewing, correcting, and billing encounters to be submitted to our clearinghouse within timely filing deadlines. Additional responsibilities include updating NextGen with accurate information as requested.
Responsibilities
- Run pre-bill reports and verify charges for billing/coding accuracy
- Confirm doctor participation for all insurances and active location billing
- Address errors and questions via the NextGen tasking system
- Monitor automated billing and EDI file creation; resolve claim status errors
- Submit all EDI files to the clearinghouse and verify receipt for processing
- Work rejections promptly upon receipt through the clearinghouse
- Recreate and resubmit corrected claims as needed
- Distribute all paper claims after automated printing
- Create, void, and correct claims manually as requested by collections
- Update secondary claim files with primary EOB information via Navicure
- Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience
- Proficiency with NextGen
- High School Diploma or equivalent
