Location: Ashland, VA
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday to Friday, between 5:00 AM and 6:00 PM

Zing is seeking a Lead Fire Sprinkler Technician to join a Fire Sprinkler Department in Ashland, VA. This position is responsible for servicing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing fire sprinkler systems for established customers on a scheduled basis. Candidates must also be available for an on-call rotation.

Job Duties:

• Conduct service calls and perform onsite emergency troubleshooting and repairs of fire sprinkler systems
• Identify code issues and non-conformance issues
• Interpret and apply NFPA 25 codes during testing and inspections
• Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely service tickets and reports
• Communicate with customers to explain work being performed and any necessary repairs
• Perform fire pump flow tests, preferred but not required
• Become NICET certified or maintain current NICET certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems

Requirements:

• Current valid driver’s license with 3 or fewer points is required
• Three years of licensed driving experience is required
• Two or more years inspecting and repairing fire sprinkler systems
• Knowledge and understanding of NFPA codes
• Comfortable working on ladders 6 to 12 feet and on lifts
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Able to work overhead and in unusual or small spaces, such as attics and crawl spaces
• Well organized and able to track service tickets and complete required service documentation

Compensation:

• Pay is hourly and negotiable based on experience
• Hours worked between 6:00 PM and 5:00 AM are paid at time and a half
• Emergency service calls include a paid 4-hour minimum at time and a half
• Emergency service calls on recognized holidays include a paid 4-hour minimum at double time, plus 8 hours of holiday pay at the regular rate
