Lab Coordinator/Technician

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a leading in fragrance and natural cosmetic solutions manufacturer, is seeking to hire a dynamic Lab Coordinator to support their day-to-day operations.

Locations: Hackensack, NJ

Pay Range: $20–22/hr (depending on experience; bench experience and lab coordination skills preferred)

Key Responsibilities

• Oil/Material Library Management

• Organize and maintain the fragrance/oil inventory; ensure all materials are correctly labeled, stored, and tracked for 2–3 months of usage
• Compounding & Lab Support
• Assist with fragrance compounding: weighing, mixing, temperature control, safety compliance.
• Provide bench support under supervision, working alongside perfumers and evaluators
• Workflow & Project Coordination
• Use lab management tools (e.g., Trefoil or Batchmetrics) to oversee project schedules, task queues, and sample requests
• Cross?Functional Interaction
• Coordinate with perfumers, fragrance evaluators, logistics, and occasionally support shipping or sales teams
• Inventory & Supplies Oversight
• Manage consumable stock and lab supplies—maintain inventory, restock as needed, and keep work areas clean and organized
• Safety & Compliance
• Follow all lab safety protocols, use PPE appropriately, and ensure equipment and workspace hygiene
  
  

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; College in chemistry, biology, or related field preferred
• Prior lab or compounding experience in fragrance, cosmetics, personal care, or related industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with lab software tools like Trefoil or Batchmetrics.
• Strong organizational attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Comfort working in a hands-on lab environment, supporting bench operations.
• Team-player attitude and flexibility to wear multiple hats.
