- Apply statistical methods and perform calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staffing requirements, and production standards.
- Design and optimize layouts for equipment, materials, and workspaces using CAD tools and computer applications to maximize efficiency.
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, and related documentation to establish manufacturing methods and procedures.
- Requisition tooling, capital equipment, and trial materials for new and existing projects.
- Develop and implement manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with management and production teams to establish and maintain design and production standards.
- Analyze operational sequences, material flow, and organizational structures to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement value analysis and value engineering initiatives to enhance cost-effectiveness.
- Evaluate statistical data and product specifications to set quality and reliability objectives for finished products.
- Assess precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment; recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Adjust workflow schedules based on lead times and manufacturing sequences to expedite production operations.
- Lead continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
- Support strategic planning for future projects and capacity expansion
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and recent, relevant industry experience is required.
- Certification in industrial engineering or related fields preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD tools, statistical analysis software, and integrated computer systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to draft and edit technical documentation and correspondence.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing and familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
