Zing is seeking a diligent and qualified Environmental Project Manager / Land Use Permitting Specialist to join a well-established, multi-disciplinary environmental consulting team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct wetland delineations
- Perform functional assessments and hydrological studies
- Manage land use permitting for wetlands, flood hazard areas, coastal and riparian regulations
- Prepare environmental impact assessments
- Conduct ecological evaluations and risk assessments
- Perform threatened and endangered species assessments
- Review development plans to identify regulatory constraints and permitting requirements
- Manage projects from proposal preparation through completion
- Significant relevant experience in environmental consulting
- Strong experience with NJDEP Land Use and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regulations
- Knowledge of NYSDEC, PADEP, USFWS, DRCC, Meadowlands, Pinelands, and Highlands Commission regulations
- Knowledge of regional flora and fauna, including threatened and endangered species
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of ArcGIS
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to perform field work in various terrains and environments
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel within NJ, NY, and PA
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and recent, relevant industry experience is required
- Wetland Delineation Certification required
- Professional Wetland Scientist designation preferred
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus
