Project Manager - Special Projects (Capital Construction) Job Summary
- Pay: Competitive, based on experience ($50.00 - $55.00 per hour)
- Work Schedule:
- Standard Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8-hour workday)
- Core Hours: 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- After 2 months, eligible for Hybrid Work Schedule: 2 days in-office, 3 days remote
- Contract (2 Years)
- Project Management (40%)
- Oversee all phases of planning, design, and permitting for smaller capital projects and capital renewal work.
- Develop project scope, cost estimates, and deliverables.
- Manage design consultant quality, timely delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure coordination with stakeholders, community outreach, and status reporting.
- Review designs and ensure they meet technical and regulatory requirements.
- Construction Management (40%)
- Manage construction tasks, including final review of designs and procurement documents.
- Oversee pricing/bidding, contractor negotiations, and construction administration.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction quality and adherence to plans.
- Administer contracts, including safety programs, schedule management, inspections, change order negotiations, and project closeouts.
- Collaboration and Selection (10%)
- Participate in selection advisory committees, value engineering studies, and other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with county agencies and external regulatory entities to ensure compliance.
- Constructability Reviews (10%)
- Perform constructability reviews of plans and specifications at various stages.
- Participate in plan review meetings and resolve design issues with the team and stakeholders.
- Required Certifications:
- Driver's License (Required)
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) (Required)
- Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Value Engineering Knowledge/Certification
- LEED Certification (Sustainability and Green Building Design)
- Skills:
- Proficiency in CPM project scheduling principles
- Strong experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Technical writing for project correspondence and contract documentation
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds overhead
- Able to engage in verbal communication and respond to audio alarms and verbal warnings in construction and office environments
- Ability to produce organized and legible written and typed documents, including graphics
- Proficient in using computers and software for communication, reporting, and project tracking
- Ability to safely climb ladders (up to 25 feet) and navigate rough/slippery terrain at construction sites Why Zing Recruiting?
