Key Responsibilities
- Manage large-scale electrical engineering projects in occupied commercial buildings.
- Design, review, and oversee installation of electrical, generator, life safety, solar PV, and EV systems.
- Serve as a subject matter expert across multiple departments.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and budget constraints.
- Sign and seal engineering work as a licensed Professional Engineer.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-impact infrastructure solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
- 4 years of progressively responsible professional experience.
- Valid Virginia PE License (or eligible for reciprocity within 6 months).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience managing electrical systems in occupied buildings over 100,000 sq. ft.
- Strong background in:
- Commercial power distribution and energy management
- Mission-critical backup systems
- Photovoltaic (PV) solar systems
- Contract and project management
- Proven ability to lead projects valued at $500,000 or more.
- Experience developing capital improvement programs.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
- Ability to climb ladders, access tight spaces, and lift/push up to 25 lbs.
- Must be mobile and able to access active construction sites.
- Comfortable working in extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
- Panel interview and practical exercise may be administered.
- Background and driving record checks required.
