Certified Medical Coder (AHIMA or AAPC Certified)Location: St. James, NY 11780Pay Range: $27-$34/hourThe ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of medical documentation, CPT, and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding. This role is essential to ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in our coding and reimbursement processes.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze physician documentation, CPT, and ICD-9/ICD-10 diagnosis codes.Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, reimbursement policies, and accreditation standards.Assign and enter accurate diagnoses and procedure codes for reimbursement purposes.Research and resolve discrepancies or rejected claims from third-party carriers.Maintain and monitor various reports and files including IDX account notifications, PK validity errors, TES open encounters, and CLIA renewals.Track and process all IDX record requests.Perform additional duties as assigned by management.QualificationsRequired:Certification: Must be certified through AHIMA or AAPC (CPC required).Education: Associate’s Degree preferred.In lieu of a degree, 5 years of relevant coding experience required.Strong working knowledge of current coding requirements and E/M coding standards.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Highly organized and detail-oriented.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.Zing Recruiting, a leader in the staffing industry for the past 33 years, continues our vision of ‘linking’ communities through employment.
