AutoCAD Designer

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a government entity, is seeking to hire a Facility AutoCAD Operator to support the team by developing and maintaining accurate technical drawings and documentation across campus buildings, infrastructure, renovations, and capital improvement projects. This role is responsible for ensuring that digital floor plans, site plans, utility maps, and construction documents remain current, organized, and aligned with established standards.

This individual partners closely with project managers, architects, engineers, maintenance teams, and contractors to support effective planning, execution, and long term facilities management. The role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of campus facilities data and enabling operational efficiency across the university.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain AutoCAD drawings for campus facilities, including architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil layouts
• Ensure all drawings and documentation reflect current conditions and project updates
• Organize and manage drawing files, standards, and version control processes
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to incorporate project changes and field updates
• Support space planning, renovations, and capital projects with accurate and timely documentation
• Assist in maintaining facilities data across systems and platform
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in drafting, design technology, architecture, engineering, or a related field
• Experience in facilities management, construction, or a large campus environment
• Working knowledge of building systems, construction terminology, and infrastructure layouts
• Exposure to tools such as GIS, Bluebeam, space management systems, or CMMS platforms
• Experience supporting or integrating CAD data within facilities or asset management system
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD with the ability to create, edit, and manage complex technical drawings
