What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metal Worker Associate position at Zim Sailing?
Metal Worker
Zim Sailing is adding staff in our Metal Shop. You’ll be joining a small team (5-7 people), who are producing aluminum and metal parts for small sailboats.
We need experienced workers who can run our Bridgeports, small presses, drill holes, install hardware (rivets, through-bolts), use jigs, tumblers, waterjets - and generally can figure things out. This is an old fashioned, hands on, manual job – we don’t have rows of CNC machines. We’re looking for hardworking people with good pace and motivation.
- Operating Shop Machines - Bridgeports, Drill Presses
- Using Hand Tools, drilling and countersinking holes
- Installing hardware – bolts, rivets, machine screws
- Cutting metal – chop saws, band saws, etc
- Aluminum welding work (very simple skills required)
- Attention to detail
- Experience in machine shop or similar environment
- Willingness to work hard in a physical job, setting the pace
- Positive attitude, a problem solver.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Forklift experience is a plus.
