Main Purpose of the Role:
To ensure principles of accounting are being applied to the financial information of the organization timely and accurately
Main Tasks:
To ensure principles of accounting are being applied to the financial information of the organization timely and accurately
Main Tasks:
- - Handles daily accounting tasks such as journal entries, corrections, invoice processing and PO creation.
- - P&L reconciliation preparation with initial review of accounting vs budget differences
- - Completes required filings for compliance with municipalities
- - Assists with the creation of Purchase Orders, GL coding support and posting confirmations
- - Prepares supporting schedules for audit & tax filings (quarterly and yearly)
- - Completes bank reconciliation preparation including review of aged outstanding checks
- - Supports budgeting and forecasting efforts (agency and region) under supervision
- - Assists with financial reporting and compliance by creating and analyzing system reports
- - Posting of fixed assets, Lease Schedules and monthly depreciation
- - General Intercompany postings versus other agencies
- - Manual upload of Demurrage and Detention Revenue
- - Manual Posting of Demurrage refund through commercial consideration
- - Other General Accounting tasks
- - Ad hoc requests
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
- 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications. Advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred
- Deadline Orientated; Ability to efficiently plan and prioritize tasks based on urgency.
