POSITION SUMMARY
Serves as a strategic business partner and operational lead for human resources at Zetton, Inc. This role is responsible for overseeing employee relations, recruitment, policy enforcement, HR compliance, performance management, and payroll processing. Partnering closely with executive leadership and department managers, the HR Manager ensures alignment between organizational goals and HR strategies to cultivate a positive and compliant work culture that actively supports employee well-being.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic HR & Compliance Leadership
- Partners with leadership to develop, implement, and maintain HR strategies, policies, systems, and procedures aligned with organizational goals.
- Interprets and applies federal and state labor laws to ensure organizational compliance; guides managers on corrective actions and disciplinary procedures.
- Advises management on organizational policy matters, recommends continuous improvements, and updates employee handbooks and HR documents.
- Tracks, analyzes, and maintains HR metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), organizational charts, and quarterly reports for executive review.
- Partners with external PEO/HR services to ensure seamless HR administration and compliance.
Employee Relations & Management Development
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (including Hawaii Prepaid Health Care Act, wage/hour regulations, etc.).
- Leads complex and sensitive workplace investigations regarding policy violations or grievances; serves as a neutral mediator to resolve disputes and mitigate risk.
- Coaches and advises managers on performance management, counseling techniques, conflict resolution, and proper documentation of disciplinary issues.
- Coordinates and schedules leadership and staff training programs with the company's PEO partner or other providers.
Payroll, Benefits & Leave Administration
- Processes semi-monthly payroll for all employees, entering adjustments, reviewing timesheets, pay rates, job codes, and tips to reconcile discrepancies.
- Assists managers with setting up established tip rules in the tip management system and ensuring tips are redistributed properly during payroll cycles.
- Monitors health insurance eligibility. Notifies employees of benefits eligibility changes resulting from changes in hours worked.
- Tracks vacation and sick leave for eligible employees.
Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & HR Operations
- Oversees recruitment to attract, retain, and develop talent across all locations.
- Utilizes applicant tracking, database searches, media advertising, job fairs, recruiting firms, and employee referrals to source qualified candidates.
- Collaborates with department heads to craft and update job descriptions, ensuring accurate alignment with role expectations and FLSA classifications.
- Oversees background checks, reference verifications, and offer letter preparation.
HR Systems, Data Integrity & Audits
- Enters new hire information into HR systems and assists with ensuring completion of onboarding tasks and paperwork.
- Processes separations in HR/payroll system and calculates hours, wages, etc. for processing of final paycheck.
- Conducts routine audits of employee data, new hire information, and separation details entered into HR, POS, and tip management systems to ensure total accuracy, consistency, completeness, and compliance.
- Maintains confidential employee records and personnel files in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Generates and analyze regular custom HR reports (e.g., turnover, headcount, eligibility, headcount tracking).
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of HR management or related generalist experience preferred, or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
