Job Description:
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Inspections Manager to join the team! As the Inspections Manager, you'll lead a critical function within our operations pipeline helping get jurisdictional approval for solar installs. In this role, you'll lead a team responsible for scheduling inspections with the local jurisdiction, field teams, and the customer. You'll be responsible for identifying issue trends and root cause problem solving, working with operations and field leadership to improve inspection pass rates, and developing scalable processes while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance team development, operational execution, and strategic improvement initiatives to support our rapid growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team to schedule and verify installation inspections within department and company SLA expectations
- Partner with Operations and Field Leadership to address installation quality issues based on inspection outcomes, provide feedback on training needs, and streamline the inspection process
- Lead root cause problem solving efforts and work with Operations and Field Leadership to develop and implement solutions
- Hire, train, onboard, and manage a team of Inspections Agents, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Support hiring, training, and management of in field Inspections Technicians
- Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and coaching sessions to develop team capabilities and address performance issues
- Maintain comprehensive training materials, SOPs, forms, and quality standards for all in-office and in-field inspections procedures
- Establish clear performance expectations and KPIs for the department and team members; track individual and team metrics to drive accountability
- Serve as an escalation point for complex issues that require management intervention or cross-functional coordination
- Participate in weekly operations meetings to report on inspection pass rates, field quality, report on problem solving initiatives, and coordinate cross-functional solutions
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to influence process improvements across departments
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in operations, quality assurance, or process management roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive decisions, identify trends, and measure performance
- Exceptional organizational and project management abilities; comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience building or scaling operational processes in a high-growth environment
- Proficient with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar), project management tools, and data analysis/reporting tools
- Outstanding communication skills—able to influence cross-functional partners, coach team members, and present to senior leadership
- Demonstrated ability to balance quality standards with speed and efficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in solar, renewable energy, home improvement, or other contract-based industries
- Previous experience managing remote or distributed teams
