Position: Certified Medical Assistant / Optometry
Location: Craig, AK 99921
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
We are currently seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Optometry for a 13-week contract opportunity in Craig, Alaska. This is a great opportunity to work in a patient-focused eye care setting while expanding your optometry and imaging skills.
Requirements:
✔ Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
✔ High School Diploma or GED
✔ Basic Life Support Certification Required
✔ Flu Vaccine Required
Job Responsibilities:
Optometry Assistant Duties:
- Room and screen patients of all ages for providers
- Perform optical and point-of-care lab testing
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Assist patients with eyewear and contact lens orders
- Verify optical benefits, frame selection, measurements, order entry, and payment collection
- Perform eyewear adjustments, repairs, and warranty replacements
- Support inventory management including ordering, returns, and stock organization
Imaging Duties:
- Perform ocular imaging including:
- Ocular photos
- OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)
- Visual fields
- Corneal topography
- Upload and document imaging results in patient medical records
Administrative Support:
- Assist with patient triage, scheduling, and referrals
- Answer patient calls and handle paperwork
- Coordinate with providers and care teams for patient referrals
- Order and maintain office/medical supplies
Pay: $1,800.00 - $1,930.00 per week
Experience:
- MA: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Required)
- CMA (Required)
