Position SummaryVITA Italian Restaurant is seeking an experienced Catering & Restaurant Manager to join our management team in Pomona, California. This role is responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations while managing catering and banquet events within a full-service hotel environment. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, operational discipline, and creativity, with proven experience in hotel banquets, Italian cuisine service, and catering operations.Skills & RequirementsRequired ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience in a similar management position within a full-service hotelMinimum 2 years of experience in Italian restaurant and catering managementMinimum 3 years of Hotel Banquet Management experience (Required)Minimum 3 years of Restaurant & Catering Management experience (Required)Technical & Operational KnowledgeThorough knowledge of MICROS, Delphi, banquet operations, AV coordination, wine and liquor serviceStrong understanding of food & beverage cost control, inventory management, and labor efficiencyAbility to establish and enforce quality and quantity control standardsCreative ability in setting service standards, presentation, and guest experienceProfessional CompetenciesResourceful, adaptable, and able to maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to maintain excellent working relationships with staff, hotel leadership, and corporate managementProfessional judgment in handling guest and staff concernsSpecific ResponsibilitiesOperational & Administrative ManagementPrepare daily and submit required operational paperwork, including but not limited to:Staff schedules and labor forecastsPayroll and employee time/edit sheetsCatering and room charge postingsOperating reports as required by managementMaintain accurate department attendance records and training documentationCatering, Banquet & Event CoordinationCoordinate daily with Food & Beverage outlets, Catering & Sales, Accounting, and other hotel departmentsAttend and actively participate in BEO meetings, Resume meetings, and Staff meetingsPlan, forecast, and coordinate all resources required for banquet and catering events, including:Staffing needsEquipment and operating suppliesAV requirementsApproved rentals and vendor coordinationEnsure timely arrival, proper setup, and operational readiness for all eventsFinancial Control & ComplianceEnforce all food and beverage control proceduresConduct and/or participate in:Monthly F&B inventoriesBanquet bar consumption reportsEmployee bank safekeeping and proper usageEnsure compliance with company policies, hotel standards, and applicable regulationsGuest Service & Team LeadershipRespond courteously and professionally to resolve guest and staff issuesCommunicate and escalate issues appropriately through the Restaurant GM, HR, and Hotel GM as neededLead by example to promote professionalism, accountability, and service excellenceMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all timesScheduling & AvailabilityWork flexible schedules including AM, PM, weekends, and holidays, as required by business needs and directed by managementWork Environment & ExpectationsFast-paced, service-driven hotel and restaurant environmentRequires strong multitasking, leadership presence, and decision-making skillsHands-on role requiring active floor management during service and events
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
