Paint/Coatings Prep Technician
Zenith Paint & Finish – Powell, WY
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Paint Prep Technician who takes pride in clean, detailed work and wants to learn a skilled trade.
This is an entry-level, hands-on role focused on surface preparation, jobsite protection, and supporting the paint crew. This position plays a critical role in job speed and final finish quality.
Key ResponsibilitiesSurface Preparation
- Sanding, scuffing, filling, and caulking surfaces
- Preparing walls, trim, and doors for paint
- Spot priming where needed
Jobsite Protection
- Masking floors, windows, cabinets, and fixtures
- Taping clean lines for paint work
- Maintaining protection throughout the job
Crew Support
- Assist Paint Technicians with daily tasks
- Move materials, set up tools, and maintain workflow
- Help keep the job running efficiently
Cleanup & Organization
- Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
- Daily cleanup and end-of-job cleanup
- Proper care and storage of tools and materials

Pay & Opportunity
- Base Pay: $15–$20/hour (depending on experience)
- Performance Bonuses: Based on production, quality, and reliability

Requirements
- No prior painting experience required
- Comfortable with physical work and active job sites
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Ability to follow systems and direction
- Completion of required Sherwin-Williams training (provided, ~6 hours)
