NVMe Test Engineer (6-Month Contract) – Onsite in San Jose, CA

We’re seeking a hands-on NVMe Test Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract supporting test planning, execution, and debug for NVMe Solid State Drives (SSDs).
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys deep technical problem solving, test ownership, and close collaboration with development teams.
What You’ll Do
- Plan, execute, and debug functional tests for NVMe SSDs
- Analyze existing test scripts, identify failures, and work with dev teams to resolve issues
- Work with front-end storage protocols, ideally NVMe/PCIe
- Dive deep into SSD operation over PCIe interfaces and continuously improve test quality
What We’re Looking For
- Expertise in at least one front-end storage protocol: NVMe/PCIe preferred (SAS, USB acceptable)
- Experience with debugging and troubleshooting technical failures
- Familiarity with SSD/HDD testing highly recommended
- Scripting skills (Python) are a plus
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with development teams
Qualifications
- Solid technical foundation in storage protocols
- Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving test failures
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Work Location
- Onsite in San Jose, CA – 5 days/week required
- No remote or hybrid option
Compensation
- Pay range: Up to $75/hr
