Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate sushi chef to join our team. The right candidate will have strong skills in sushi preparation, presentation, and kitchen efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and attention to detail.
- Ensure all food is prepared according to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and sushi bar area.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Assist in menu planning and development of new sushi offerings.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques.
- Able to Julienne cucumbers, butcher whole tuna / salmon, prepare nigiri and sushi rolls, Plate dishes with proper proportion, shine, and visual appeal.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on food handling, meal preparation, and fine dining standards.
- Familiarity with various types of sushi, ingredients, and traditional Japanese cooking techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent teamwork skills, with a willingness to help others in the kitchen.
