Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain various hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and tractors to perform lawn care and landscape tasks efficiently.
- Mow lawns, trim trees, prune shrubs, and perform general lawn care duties to ensure healthy growth and aesthetic appeal.
- Execute landscape maintenance activities including planting, watering, and weed control to promote vibrant landscapes.
- Assist with installation of hardscape and softscape features like walkways, gardens, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures to enhance property value.
- Support snow plowing operations during winter months to ensure safe access for clients.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform maintenance or report repairs needed for optimal operation.
- Collaborate with team members on projects involving irrigation systems installation or repair, tree care, or horticultural improvements.
- Represent Zempel Lawn & Order in a positive, professional manner
Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Ability to lift 40 lbs and stay active throughout the day
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with experience operating hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment such as mowers or excavators.
- Prior experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, or gardening is highly desirable
- Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors in various weather conditions; comfortable lifting heavy materials and working on uneven terrain.
- Strong attention to safety protocols when handling equipment like chainsaws or power tools.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in landscaping or construction projects.
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to learn about irrigation systems or snow plowing operations is a plus.
