What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overhead Crane Technician - Apprentice position at Zelus Material Handling?

As a member of the service team you will join a diverse, dynamic group of highly motivated individuals that bring with them a wide array of talents, skills and backgrounds. This role will perform various tasks while working out in the field. Installations, repair service and preventative maintenance including inspections of overhead cranes, hoists and other material handling equipment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- Display a professional image and work within a team environment to accomplish goals
- Inspect hoists, cranes, systems, chain falls and pullers
- Order parts and maintain inventory
- Keep maintenance reports and documentation
- Perform crane inspections, repairs, installations and respond to breakdown calls
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Secondary school diploma or high school equivalent as a minimum
- 1 Year of Hands-on Electrical Experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Welding experience considered an asset
- Critical thinking skills
- Technically Inclined
- Mechanical aptitude
- Excellent people and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Lifting up to 50lbs
- Knowledge and understanding of structural, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Able to work in elevated areas
- Eager to learn
- Available to work overtime as required
- Must have reliable own transportation, valid driver’s license in good standing
