Position Summary
The Ventilation Business of Zehnder Group North America currently comprises of two business units: Airia Brands Inc., London ON and Zehnder America, Hampton, NH. As a part of its aggressive growth strategy, they are seeking a self-driven, motivated individual to join our team as an Accountant, based in Hampton, as a part of the Ventilation finance team and support the North America Controller in day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for an accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls within a fast-paced growing North American organization.
Key Responsibilities
Ø Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes, adhering to deadlines
Ø Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments
Ø Perform account reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts
Ø Manage accounts payable and accounts receivables, including entries and reconciliations
Ø Monitor, prepare, and reconcile U.S. sales tax obligations—including collecting, validating, and filing state and local sales tax returns—ensuring timely, accurate compliance across applicable jurisdictions
Ø Assist in preparing financial statements and internal management reports
Ø Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP
Ø Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
Ø Assist with fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules
Ø Help ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and procedures
Ø Participating in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy
Ø Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
Ø Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
Ø 2~5 years of accounting or finance experience
Ø Basic understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
Ø Experience with U.S. state and local sales tax compliance (e.g., collecting, validating, preparing, and filing returns across multiple jurisdictions)
Ø Familiarity with sales tax concepts such as nexus, exemption management, and state‑specific filing requirements is an asset
Ø Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)
Ø Experience with ERP or accounting systems preferred (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar)
Ø Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ø Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Ø Strong organizational and analytical skills
Ø Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ø Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred:
Ø CPA candidate or intent to pursue CPA certification
Ø Prior experience in a manufacturing or international business environment
