Zeeland Public Schools has an opening for an Educational Technology Support Technician. The Educational Technology Support Technician is responsible for repairing district laptop/desktop devices and related software (various platforms), obtaining repair/replacement supplies, supporting staff with technology issues in person/email/phone, and working with the District Educational Technology Services staff to solve district-wide problems and plan new technology implementations.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree or at least five years related work experience.
- Must have strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Provide thoroughness, accuracy, and consistent follow-through.
- Should be self-directed and task oriented to handle multiple projects and priorities.
- Should have an in-depth knowledge of Windows 11 operating options, networking options, file servers, computing platforms, software, hardware, and peripherals.
- Should have good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well as a part of a team.
- Should have extensive background in maintenance and repair of computer hardware and software.
- Should be creative and flexible.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and support all Windows 11 desktops and computers to minimize downtime and costs while maintaining a great user experience.
- Maintain a record of technical support via the district ticketing system.
- Confer with staff, users, and administration to establish requirements for new systems or modifications. Respond to requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Work with vendors to support hardware and software.
- Able to manage user features of an AD/Azure/MS365 environment, including passwords, user account management, GPOs, workstation imaging and deployment.
- Expert in the operations and management of Windows 10/11 and Chromebooks.
- Provide client support and technical issue resolution via e-mail, phone, in person, or remotely.
- Provide instruction, documentation, and diagrams of hardware and software setup and use for staff and students.
- Maintain enterprise AV/EDR/Malware clients and provide mitigation support.
- Responsible for all applications being installed on Windows devices, locally or remotely.
- Utilize the ticketing system for managing service requests and completing work orders promptly.
- Provide technical support to all district users in a respectful, professional, and kind manner.
- Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory.
- Maintain proper order and all necessary supplies and charge appropriate accounts.
- Provide for ways to improve department performance in the use of technology tools.
- Assist with the repair and maintenance of classroom AV district-wide
- Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
