Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Shop Mechanic to join our dynamic team! In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and automotive vehicles. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractors using OEM schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake repairs, transmission servicing, hydraulic system troubleshooting, suspension adjustments, and air brake inspections.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs.
- Operate heavy machinery safely during repair or testing phases to verify proper functioning after maintenance or repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records detailing repairs performed, parts used, and inspection results for compliance and future reference.
- Assist with tire service, wheel alignment procedures, electrical diagnostics, HVAC system repairs, and heavy lifting tasks as required.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair status clearly and ensuring work is completed efficiently to minimize downtime.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with dealership or industrial equipment preferred; familiarity with Caterpillar or OEM parts is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and vehicle maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for complex machinery repairs.
- Experience operating heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, or tractor-trailers; heavy lifting capability required.
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics along with tire service skills; familiarity with heavy equipment operation is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance and repair tasks.
