Why we need you:
This role is essential for ensuring the proper operation of packaging equipment, conducting on-line quality checks, and maintaining cleanliness within the production area. You will help ensure that all products meet quality standards and that the packaging process runs smoothly.
A Day in the life:
- Operate all packaging equipment in accordance with established work instructions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues to maintain production flow.
- Rotate through various packaging stations as required.
- Evaluate product containers to ensure they meet quality standards, including container integrity, labeling, and coding.
- Accurately complete and maintain all required logs and forms.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the work area daily and complete tasks assigned by the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Adhere to plant rules and all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality, and customer requirements.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Forklift License (provided by employer).
Competencies and preferred Skills:
- Ability to follow written instructions with attention to detail.
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Commitment to high personal performance standards and continuous self-improvement.
Working Relationships:
You will work closely with other Packaging Workers and the production team to ensure smooth operations. You are expected to communicate effectively with your team, Lead, and Supervisors to address any issues that arise.
To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, the employee must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift).
- Frequently bend, stoop, twist, and reach overhead.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and arms.
- Operate machinery and tools requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
- Tolerate exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and noise levels in a production environment.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection
