About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director of Construction to lead and scale construction operations for our single-family and multifamily residential projects throughout the Bay Area. This role is responsible for end-to-end execution of multiple developments, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
This is a senior leadership role that partners closely with executive leadership, development, design, and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence across the construction function.
Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for all construction activities across single-family and multifamily projects

Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution from pre-construction through close-out

Manage and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams

Establish and enforce construction standards, processes, and best practices

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal building codes, safety regulations, and environmental requirements

Lead subcontractor and vendor selection, contract negotiations, and performance management

Monitor project costs and schedules, proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective actions

Collaborate with development, architecture, engineering, and sales teams to align construction with overall business objectives

Maintain strong relationships with inspectors, municipalities, and third-party consultants

Drive continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, safety, and cost control
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

10 years of progressive construction leadership experience, with significant exposure to single-family and/or multifamily residential construction

Proven experience managing multiple large-scale residential projects simultaneously

Strong knowledge of Bay Area building codes, permitting processes, and subcontractor markets

Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and deliver projects on schedule

Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools
