About your role:
This is a hands-on, full-time position with duties that involve overseeing the day-to-day activities of contractors while performing mechanical inspections to ensure the quality of the finished product is acceptable to all codes and standards applied to the project.
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities
- Ensures work is installed per drawings and specs and meets local and national code requirements.
- Tracks daily completion percentages and quantities to ensure the project is on schedule.
- Travels to contractor fab yard for construction oversight.
- Verifies proper welding procedures are being utilized and performs visual inspections of completed welds.
- Verifies proper material has been selected per piping isometric drawings (ISOs).
- Receives materials from vendors and verifies Material Test Reports (MTRs).
- Verifies coating application is being applied per company specifications.
- Ability to answer questions and resolve issues.
- Provides detailed daily reports of work completed and pictures of progress.
- Review drawings, request for information (RFIs) and field directives (FDs); generate action items lists.
- Submits all documentation including MTRs, photos, and ITP forms for project documentation and job books.
- Ensures all employees have site-specific and client orientation as well as being equipment certified.
- Attends daily tailgate and safety meetings and review Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
- Handles discussions with clients and contractors to review daily activities.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.

Education
- High School Diploma or GED and some college course work required.
- Associates degree, bachelor’s degree, or trade/technical school preferred.
- 8 years’ experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education required.
- 5 years supervisory/ leadership experience is required.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred.

- The work environment is the typical construction environment. The employee must complete their work satisfactorily in an environment with significant distractions, including staff, clients, and vendors walking through and conversing, telephones ringing, conversations carrying over, loud noises, and interruptions to answer questions from others. Must be able to drive to sites or meetings with clients.

Salary : $83,200 - $140,400
