The Monarch San Antonio - A Legacy of Service and Sophistication

The Monarch San Antonio, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is a 200-room, 17-story boutique hotel located in the Hemisfair District of downtown San Antonio. It is set to open in early 2026 and is inspired by the Monarch butterfly that migrates through the region each winter. The hotel will feature a full-service spa, a terrace pool, and five food and beverage concepts, including a rooftop restaurant and bar.

Position Summary

The Team Member Dining Room Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals for hotel staff. This role ensures that all food meets the hotel’s standards for taste, presentation, and safety while maintaining an efficient and organized kitchen environment.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals for hotel employees in accordance with menu plans and dietary requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, portioning, and presentation.
• Ensure the team member dining room and kitchen are clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor inventory, manage stock rotation, and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with culinary and management teams to plan menus, accommodate special dietary needs, and implement improvements.
• Ensure timely service during employee meal periods, maintaining professionalism and a positive work environment.
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and food handling protocols consistently.
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a cook, preferably in hotels, restaurants, or catering environments.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, hygiene standards, and kitchen safety protocols.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
• Culinary degree or formal training preferred
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings or late evenings if required
• Food Handler Certification Required
