The Monarch San Antonio, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is a 200-room, 17-story boutique hotel located in the Hemisfair District of downtown San Antonio. Position Overview
The A.M Server at The Nectarie Cafe is responsible for providing polished, attentive tableside service for breakfast and lunch in a welcoming cafe environment. This role delivers warm hospitality, accurate service, and thoughtful guest engagement while maintaining an efficient and organized dining room during morning and midday service periods. The A.M Server plays a key role in creating a relaxed, elevated cafe experience that sets the tone for each guest’s day.
Essential Functions
Tableside Service and Guest Experience
- Provide attentive, professional tableside service for breakfast and lunch guests.
- Greet guests warmly, guide them through menu selections, and manage the full dining experience.
- Anticipate guest needs and personalize service to enhance satisfaction.
- Maintain a calm, welcoming presence throughout service periods.
Food and Beverage Service
- Serve breakfast and lunch menu items, coffee, espresso beverages, tea, and other cafe offerings.
- Demonstrate knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and daily features.
- Coordinate beverage service with baristas to ensure timely delivery.
- Accurately enter orders and manage guest checks.
Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining and service areas.
- Follow opening procedures and complete assigned side work.
- Reset tables promptly and maintain presentation standards.
- Operate point of sale systems accurately and responsibly.
Teamwork and Professionalism
- Work collaboratively with baristas, kitchen staff, and cafe leadership.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Accept coaching and feedback to support continuous improvement.
Compliance and Safety
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and food handling standards.
- Adhere to company policies and brand standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Other Duties
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by Senior leadership.
- Maintain availability for mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical & Working Conditions
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and special events.
Qualifications
- Previous tableside service experience preferred.
- Strong guest service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tables efficiently.
- Professional demeanor and attention to detail.
- Food and Alcohol Service Certifications required or ability to obtain.
