This is an exciting opportunity for a Lead Procurement Specialist to work with Zachry Group. We seek experienced procurement professionals who have led procurement and subcontracting teams and have expertise in procuring engineered equipment, materials, and subcontracting technical services within the Process and Energy industries.
The Lead Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing medium and high-criticality materials, engineered equipment, and subcontracts. They must have "expert level" knowledge of procurement-related processes and procedures. The Lead Procurement Specialist will lead small groups and substitute for the Project Procurement Manager, performing and carrying out PPM-related responsibilities. Additionally, they will develop negotiating strategies, assign work, oversee, and mentor lesser tenured peers.

Responsibilities:
- Focus on contract life-cycle management and administration.
- Establish core contract management processes and monitor contract compliance.
- Participate in procurement project management teams to support contract compliance.
- Identify issues, propose solutions, provide negotiation support, and resolve contractual issues.
- Advise in Master Agreement Program Contract Development.
- Participate in Deal Development and support estimating efforts, including issuing Request for Information (RFI's).
- Lead procurement execution for medium to high criticality sourcing events.
- Conduct research and develop sourcing strategies for assigned items.
- Develop supplier lists and issue RFP packages.
- Develop performance-based scopes of work and understand specifications & drawing packages.
- Develop negotiating strategies.
- Conduct bidder conferences and coordinate discussions between bidders and technical personnel.
- Perform evaluation of proposals and conduct supplier negotiations.
- Write supplier recommendations.
- Negotiate award of contracts to suppliers.
- Support contract administration and subcontract management.
- Scope and negotiate contract change orders and amendments.
- Participate in weekly procurement meetings.
- Work Leader for teams with partial supervision responsibilities.
- Mentorship role to team and other procurement personnel.
- Manage work in a fast-paced environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 8-10 years of related experience.
- Ability to work independently, think and plan ahead.
- Ability to operate Microsoft suite.
- Some travel may be necessary.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree or a diploma with equivalent working experience.
- 10-12 years related industry experience.
- Previous supervisor experience in Procurement.
- Large industrial construction procurement experience.
- Experience in multiple industrial market sectors.
- Prior experience interfacing with client and engineering entities.
