Zachry Group is currently looking for talented and self-motivated Piping Drafters to join our Mechanical/Piping department in Omaha, NE. This is a great opportunity to get involved in some interesting and challenging design projects within the Power and/or Energy & Chemicals Industries.
Responsibilities
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position will include visits to maintenance sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights using stairs or ladders) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: fire retardant clothing (FRC’s), hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, climbing harness, gloves and steel-toe work boots.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on sites. On work sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells whistles and alarms.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of Piping Design and Layouts in accordance with Industry Practices using 2D & 3D Software.
- Assist with the development of construction documents which includes General Arrangements, Piping Isometrics, & Piping Plans.
- Initiate conceptual physical design requirements in coordination with appropriate responsible supervisors and engineers.
- Prepare material takeoffs of partial or complete projects.
- Personal development to check and verify the discipline design on projects.
- Prepare design sketches for use by drafting personnel.
- Personal development to check vendor shop drawings and construction drawings.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Develop knowledge of field verification of piping and equipment.
- Follow instructions given to complete tasks related to piping drafting and design.
- High school diploma or Associate Degree with adequate drafting courses
- 0-5 years engineering drafting/design experience in the ECR Industry.
- Working knowledge of at least one CAD software (Aveva E3D, CADWorx, Plant 3D, Microstation, AutoCAD, Navisworks or others.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu is a plus.
- Must be able to understand and comply with company & customer policies, procedures, and processes.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be organized, self-directed, able to prioritize and multi-task, work in a team environment and take direction from others.
- Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments as necessary.
- Certificate in Drafting or Associates Degree preferred.
