Telecommunications Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer to support a company focused on the design and delivery of high‑density, AI‑driven mission‑critical data center infrastructure. This position is on‑site in Rock Hill, SC. The Telecommunications Engineer will lead the design, coordination, and implementation of structured telecommunications cabling systems across the full project lifecycle. This role plays a critical part in enabling resilient, scalable infrastructure that supports next‑generation AI and data center operations.

Responsibilities for the Telecommunications Engineer include:

• Designing and coordinating structured cabling systems, pathways, spaces, grounding, and bonding for inside and outside plant telecommunications infrastructure
• Producing constructible engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications, cable schedules, test plans, BOMs, and closeout documentation using AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Coordinating telecommunications requirements with cross‑functional stakeholders including networking, security, AV, architectural, and MEP teams
• Supporting projects through all phases by resolving RFIs, troubleshooting construction issues, and contributing to schedule and budget planning
• Conducting site surveys, developing technical solutions, and supporting pre‑fabrication, testing, and quality control activities
  
  

Required Qualifications for the Telecommunications Engineer include:

• 2 years of experience in telecommunications structured cabling design, including inside and outside plant infrastructure
• Experience with TIA standards, NFPA codes, cabling media, pathways, testing, and telecommunications spaces
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit, along with strong coordination and documentation skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  
  

Compensation for the Telecommunications Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $100,000 – $115,000 depending on experience
