Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician II to support the installation, maintenance, programming, & repair of wireless communications systems for commercial, public safety, and enterprise customers. The Field Service Technician II will install & troubleshoot two-way radio systems, RF infrastructure, distributed antenna systems (DAS), bidirectional amplifier (BDA) systems, dispatch consoles, microwave systems, & related communications equipment. This role will work directly with customers to deliver reliable, mission-critical communications solutions while providing exceptional technical support and customer service.

- Install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair two-way radio and wireless communications systems for commercial and public safety customers
- Program Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex, and other land mobile radio (LMR) equipment, including mid-level codeplugs with trunking, multiple zones, and advanced system configurations
- Install and support UHF, VHF, 700/800/900 MHz radio systems, dispatch consoles, microwave systems, wireless broadband devices, CCTV systems, and RF infrastructure
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and Bidirectional Amplifier (BDA) systems where applicable
- Diagnose hardware, software, networking, and RF performance issues using industry-standard testing and diagnostic equipment
- Recommend communications equipment, hardware, and system configurations that best meet customer operational requirements
- Perform preventative maintenance, system upgrades, repairs, and field service activities while ensuring minimal customer downtime
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation to support installation and troubleshooting efforts
- Configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP networking components supporting wireless communications systems
- Maintain accurate service documentation, installation records, and customer reports
- Provide exceptional customer service while supporting mission-critical communications environments
- Participate in regional travel, overnight assignments, and on-call support as required
- 5 years of experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, installing, and supporting Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex, or similar two-way radio communications equipment (military communications experience also considered)
- Strong knowledge of two-way radio theory, RF propagation, land mobile radio (LMR) systems, and wireless communications technologies
- Experience installing and supporting UHF, VHF, 700/800/900 MHz systems, repeaters, base stations, dispatch consoles, microwave systems, wireless broadband, and related communications infrastructure
- Experience programming Motorola Astro 25, MotoTRBO, P25, Connect Plus, Capacity Plus, IP Site Connect, Capacity Max, or similar communications systems preferred
- Experience designing, installing, or troubleshooting DAS and BDA systems preferred
- Strong understanding of RF system components including duplexers, multicouplers, battery backup systems, antennas, and transmission equipment
- Experience operating communications service monitors, spectrum analyzers, system analyzers, wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs, multimeters, and other RF diagnostic equipment
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles and IP-based communications systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent technical experience preferred
- R56 Installer Certification, CET Certification, FCC GROL, OSHA 10, Network , Security , or related industry certifications preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to pass background screening, drug screening, and motor vehicle record review
