About the Role

As an Assistant Manager at Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, this role plays a key part in delivering an exceptional resident experience while supporting the daily operations of the apartment community. This position requires strong customer service instincts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively engage with a diverse resident population, including Spanish-speaking residents.

This role is highly resident-facing and requires flexibility, including weekend coverage, to ensure consistent service and responsiveness to community needs. The position supports operational efficiency, leasing activities, and financial processes while helping maintain a welcoming, well-managed community.

You will collaborate closely with the Community Manager, residents, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless communication, timely issue resolution, and high resident satisfaction. This is a full-time, onsite role located in Phoenix, AZ (FLATZ 602).

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, communicates effectively across diverse groups, and is comfortable taking initiative while supporting both residents and property operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Support daily property operations to ensure efficient workflows and consistent, high-quality resident service.

  • Respond promptly to resident inquiries, concerns, and complaints, delivering professional, empathetic, and solutions-oriented customer service.

  • Communicate effectively with English- and Spanish-speaking residents to ensure clear understanding of policies, processes, and community updates.

  • Provide weekend coverage as needed to support leasing activities, resident needs, and overall property operations.

  • Process rent payments, issue late notices, and support enforcement of collection policies in alignment with company procedures.

  • Support leasing and renewal processes by preparing documentation, coordinating tours, and maintaining accurate lease files.

  • Manage move-ins and move-outs, conduct inspections, and ensure units are ready for occupancy.

  • Communicate with vendors, submit service requests, and track work order completion to support timely maintenance resolution.

  • Submit and track invoices and assist with maintaining accurate financial records and budget monitoring.

  • Serve as the on-site lead in the absence of the Community Manager to ensure continuity of operations.

  • Maintain accurate resident files and ledgers in compliance with Fair Housing regulations and company policies.

  • Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • 2–5 years of experience in property management, leasing, customer service, or administrative support within a residential environment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in business, leasing, or property management preferred.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required or strongly preferred, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse residents.

  • Experience delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced, resident-facing environment.

  • Working knowledge of property operations, leasing practices, and Fair Housing regulations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and property management systems such as Yardi or similar platforms.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and resolve conflicts effectively.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, based on property needs.

  • Confidence in assuming leadership responsibilities when needed.

  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

  • Ability to maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.
