Responsibilities
As a Family Law Attorney focusing on litigation, you will:
- Represent clients in divorce, custody, and related family law matters with empathy, strategy, and precision.
- Manage your own caseload, supported by a talented team of paralegals, legal assistants, and firm systems built for efficiency.
- Drive results by balancing advocacy with education, ensuring every client feels heard, informed, and empowered.
- Deliver legal work that reflects Z Family Law’s core values of zealously advocating for clients, counsel by upholding ethical standards, creating a culture of accountability, and connecting with our community to build a better world.
- Maintain accountability to firm standards, deadlines, and client satisfaction metrics.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and firmwide initiatives designed to continually raise the bar.
- Collaborate with peers and leadership in a culture that prizes transparency, feedback, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid license to practice law in Maryland and preferably in DC and/or Virginia. Virginia STRONGLY preferred.
- Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in handling family law cases in Maryland and/or DC/Virginia.
- Proven track record in litigating and negotiating with successful courtroom experience.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other legal professionals and support staff to achieve optimal client outcomes.
- Strong work ethic, self-discipline, and a growth-oriented mindset.
- Excellent skills in legal research, writing, and oral advocacy, with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities to advocate for clients both in and out of court.
- Comfortable and proficient with technology to enhance client accessibility and team collaboration- experience with Clio is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple cases, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve billable targets while delivering top-tier client service.
- Comfortable working in a metrics-driven environment where accountability is celebrated.
- Fluency in Spanish is an added advantage.
Compensation
$115,000 - $150,000 yearly DOE
