Role Description The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbus, GA. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive primary care to infants, children, and adolescents, including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Daily responsibilities include conducting well-child and sick visits, managing chronic conditions, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and delivering age-appropriate counseling and education to patients and caregivers. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner collaborates closely with physicians and other clinical staff, participates in care planning, and supports preventive health initiatives such as immunizations, screenings, and developmental evaluations. Additional tasks include documenting encounters in the electronic health record, maintaining regulatory and safety standards, and contributing to a positive, family-oriented clinic experience.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Pediatric Nursing and Primary Care, with the ability to manage both preventive and acute care for children and adolescents.
- Clinical competence as a Nurse Practitioner with strong foundations in Nursing and Medicine, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Georgia and national board certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (or eligibility and intent to obtain).
- Experience in outpatient pediatric settings, with proficiency in immunizations, growth and development monitoring, and chronic disease management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members in a diverse community.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Columbus, GA, with reliable time management, organizational skills, and attention to accurate documentation and compliance.
- Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (MSN or DNP) and current BLS/CPR certification; PALS certification is preferred.
