Facilities Management Assistant. FT/40 hours a week – Wednesday-Sunday. The Facilities Management Assistant (FMA) helps keep buildings clean, safe, and welcoming while supporting both daily operations and venue rentals. This role handles routine custodial work, light maintenance, and seasonal grounds tasks, ensuring offices, common areas, and residential units stay in excellent condition. The FMA also assists with minor repairs, inspections, and coordination with contractors when larger issues arise. Because the facility hosts meetings and events, the position includes room setup, opening and closing the building, and serving as a point of contact for renters. Strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work independently are essential. Candidates should have 2–4 years of custodial or maintenance experience, be comfortable with physical tasks, and bring a positive, mission‑driven attitude. Weekend hours may vary depending on rentals. Occasional evening hours as needed. Key Responsibilities
Custodial Duties
· Clean and sanitize offices, common areas, restrooms, hallways, and meeting spaces.
· Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and remove trash on a regular schedule.
· Restock supplies such as soap, paper products, and cleaning materials.
· Maintain cleanliness of building entrances, sidewalks, and outdoor areas as needed.
· Set up rooms for meetings, events, and program activities.
Light Maintenance Duties
· Perform minor repairs, including patching walls, replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, and basic plumbing tasks.
· Assist with routine inspections of building systems and report issues promptly.
· Support turnover of residential units, including cleaning, minor repairs, and preparing spaces for new residents.
· Help maintain grounds, including seasonal tasks such as snow removal, leaf cleanup, and light landscaping.
Safety & Compliance
· Follow all safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly.
· Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or building issues immediately.
· Support compliance with health, safety, and housing standards required for nonprofit housing programs.
Venue Rental Responsibilities
These duties support renters, guests, and smooth event operations.
· Coordinate event logistics, including room setup, access times, and equipment needs.
· Open and close the facility for events, ensuring security and proper lock‑up.
· Monitor events as needed to ensure compliance with venue rules and safety guidelines.
· Communicate with renters during events to address questions or issues.
· Document incidents or damages and report them to management.
Qualifications
· 2–4 years of custodial, janitorial, or light maintenance experience (nonprofit or housing environment preferred).
· Flexible schedule on weekends to accommodate rentals hours
· Basic knowledge of cleaning practices, building maintenance, and safe equipment use.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
· Good communication skills and a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
