UNA LOCATIONS: Fairhaven Industries – Champion & Niles workshops. May be assigned to MASCO (Boardman, OH) occasionally.
SUMMARY: The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and safe operation of building systems, equipment, and grounds across assigned locations. This role ensures facilities remain functional, compliant, and well-maintained to support uninterrupted operations and a safe environment for employees, clients, and visitors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Complete general repairs such as painting, drywall, flooring, fixtures, and minor carpentry work
- Responsible for stripping and waxing floors, moving office furniture, assembly of desks and other furniture.
- Maintain exterior grounds, including snow/ice removal, lawn care/landscaping, and general upkeep
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems including plumbing, mechanical, and minor electrical.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and compliance concerns
- Ensure all equipment and systems operate efficiently and in accordance with applicable safety standards and regulations
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services
- Monitor and maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Support facility readiness for inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews
- Assist with emergency maintenance situations; may be required to work after normal work hours
- Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance and cost-saving improvements
- Communicate effectively with management regarding facility conditions, priorities, and completed work
- Maintains clean work environment and ensures materials are stored safely and in an orderly manner
- May be asked to occasionally supervise program clients or drive company vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS and CHARACTERISTICS:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Some formal maintenance training preferred
- 2-3 years experience in facilities maintenance preferred
- Ability to travel & work at multiple company facilities
- Mechanically-inclined self-starter with positive attitude
- Strong troubleshooting skills and proactive approach to resolving problems
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and move objects. Must be able to stoop, stretch, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds. Eyesight capabilities must be sufficient to perform these functions. Hearing must be adequate to perform these functions.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Pass criminal background check
- Pass pre-employment drug screen
- Pass pre-employment physical exam
- Complete all DODD training requirements
- Complete CPR, AED, and first aid training
FLSA: Hourly non-exempt
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 Hours Per Week, Flexible as scheduled
