What are the responsibilities and job description for the RESIDENCE MONITOR - Per Diem position at YWCA CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS INC?
As a Residence Monitor you will assist in maintaining security for the building and for residents and perform some custodial functions.
Hours are on an as needed, on call basis. Third shift differential of $1.00 per hour.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answers phone, processes calls, and assists residents in emergency situations
- Admits residents into building from 10:00p.m. to 6:00a.m.
- Explains policies of residence and problem-solves issues involving residents
- Conducts tours of each residence floor periodically each night
- Records residents and/or building occurrences in daily log and informs Residence Manager.
- Monitors building security and alarm systems, and initiates emergency procedures as necessary
- Dusts furniture and vacuums carpet in Members’ Lounge and Lobby area nightly; wipes tables in vending area nightly; straightens materials on tables and in kiosks as needed
- Provides relief coverage for front desk as needed
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
- Good decision making skills
- Demonstrated skills in relation to a diverse client population
- Knowledge of group living dynamics preferred
