Application Support Engineer II- ERP

Salary Range: $98,329-$160,740

The Finance IT Portfolio team is seeking a highly motivated and skilled SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Finance and Procurement Application Support Engineer. This position plays a critical role in supporting the implementation of the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud solution, with a primary focus on the Finance (FI) and Procurement (Sourcing and Procurement) modules.

This position will require you to be hybrid based out of the Secaucus, NJ location.

Responsibilities

Application Support and Maintenance (70% Focus)

• System and Functional Support: Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for end-users in Finance (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Controlling) and Procurement (Procure-to-Pay, Purchasing, Inventory Management) processes. Perform technical troubleshooting, resolve application issues, and monitor system performance, jobs, and alerts using integrated tools. Schedule and manage background jobs using the Schedule Application Jobs application. Ensure compliance with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud architecture principles, security policies, and operational standards.
• Finance Configuration: Assist the Finance team with configuration, issue resolution, and workflow management. Perform in-application configuration and fine-tuning within the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud solution in accordance with approved change requests.
• User and Access Management : Create, maintain, and deactivate user and worker accounts using SAP tools. Assign and manage business roles and restrictions to control access to applications, data, and system functionality.
• Release Management: Support the semi-annual release adoption process, including regression testing and maintaining business continuity during the implementation of new SAP features.
• Integration and Technical Coordination: Oversee the development and maintenance of integration points between SAP S/4HANA and external procurement or invoice management systems. Facilitate API and iFlow integrations utilizing SAP Business Technology Platform. Coordinate with technical teams to ensure reliable data exchange and system interoperability.
• Continuous Improvement and Governance : Maintain compliance with system governance, security policies, and best practices. Provide support for testing, release management, and documentation related to system updates and enhancements.
• Identify process gaps and recommend standardized solutions that are consistent with SAP Best Practices for the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud environment.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including training materials, configuration guides, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and end-user enablement by providing clear documentation and training resources.
• Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team and comply with company hybrid work policies and office presence requirements.
  

Procurement Focus & Implementation Support (30% Focus): Serve as the primary functional lead to stabilize and optimize newly deployed Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes. Work with business stakeholders and implementation partners to define and configure procurement capabilities, including advanced purchasing and contract management. Ensure procurement processes align with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud standard capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4-6 years of hands-on functional experience with SAP ERP systems, with at least 2 years directly supporting SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud (or Private Cloud).
• Deep functional knowledge and configuration experience in SAP FI (General Ledger, AP/AR, AA, CO).
• Strong functional knowledge of the SAP Sourcing & Procurementmodule (MM/P2P) in S/4HANA.
• Experience with the SaaS modelof S/4HANA Public Cloud, including in-app extensibility and configuration tools.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and manage end-to-end incident resolution.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), particularly for integration (APIs, Integration Suite) and analytics.
• Experience with Project Management (PMO)
• Familiarity with other integrated modules (e.g., Sales, Inventory Management).
• SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud certification in Finance or Procurement.
