What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Employment Coordinator position at YOUTH SERVICES SYSTEM INC?
Job Summary: The Employment Skills Specialist shall provide employment skills training and mentoring: assisting clients with programs, activities, and routines to assist and retain employment. The employee will develop a working relationship with employers for the purpose of providing job training and employment opportunities for assigned clients. Follow-up with employers and clients will occur in order to encourage and support both the employer and the client. This employee will ensure compliance with safe work practices and maintain safe environments in compliance with established agency standards, licensing regulations, and generally accepted practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Screen referrals to Employment Skills Program.
- Maintain updated data in Management Information System.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings as well as other required meetings and trainings.
- Recruitment and training of youth.
- Track progress of youth including benchmark/outcome achievement.
- Maintain positive working relationships with Workforce Centers, local schools and other community
- services providers.
- Assure all youth are linked to any needed resources including health, education and legal services.
- Compile monthly invoicing.
- Complete required paperwork.
- Maintain all files in accordance with expectations.

- Ability to work effectively in a constantly changing, sometimes demanding, or chaotic environment.
- Ability to communicate well orally and in written form and follow detailed instructions.
- Computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office
- Valid Driver’s License
Education and Experience:
Requires Bachelor Degree in social work, psychology, sociology or related hum service field or 3-4 years applicable experience working with young adults. Must have valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance as required by law.
Salary : $15 - $17
