Youth For Understanding is looking for enthusiastic Local Coordinators to help lead youth exchange programs. You'll work with local schools and communities to create a memorable international experience for students—bringing the world closer together!
Local Coordinators (LCs) promote Youth For Understanding USA’s (YFU USA) mission of advancing intercultural understanding, life-long learning, global competencies, mutual respect, and social responsibility through transformational educational exchanges for generations of youth, families, and communities.
What you’ll do:
- Recruit host families from within their communities (or up to 100 miles away per YFU USA best practice standards)
- Coordinate exchange students’ activities and experiences locally
- Supporting those exchange students and families during the exchange year by ensuring orientation attendance, monthly contact reports, SEE visits, and other benchmarks
- Build relationships with schools, communities, and cultural organizations
- Organize events and outings that showcase local culture
- Offer guidance and encouragement to students adjusting to a new environment and being a mediator using conflict resolution skills

Pay: $1,050.00 - $20,000.00 per year
